Because April 21 marks the deadline to create your website mobile-friendly, many websites are checking to find out if their pages can get the “mobile-friendly” label in the search engines’ mobile search results. This is Google’s promise to users that the search results will meet a particular standard of usability that currently, mobile viewers are beginning to anticipate.
Through research, only e-commerce category and subcategory pages are often the pages that do not show the annotation. Where you would expect to visit a mobile-friendly website, the listings have the labels just for the amount of product pages or “results.” but these pages pass the mobile-friendly test though make sure that you do not have any mobile usability errors in the Google Web master Tools.
The issue is that sometimes the label doesn’t appear — despite the fact that Google’s own Mobile-Friendly Test shows a positive message: “Awesome! This site is mobile-friendly.” There are little-talked about explanations why a mobile-friendly annotation might not appear despite a page’s being fully enhanced for mobile browsing.
To validate a site to be mobile friendly, you would need to do a series of steps:
1. Check your website though Google Web master Tool’s Mobile Usability report and fix any issues your website might have.
2. Check your website’s URLs through Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test to verify: “Awesome! This site is mobile-friendly.”
3. Finally, check your website on Google’s search through your smartphone to see if your site has the label.
On problem using the missing mobile-friendly annotation is not present on many category type pages with product entries. Oddly enough, this does not appear to become a problem with product review information, where both rating reviews and the mobile-friendly label are displayed.
It is also highlighted that video thumbnail mark up, “jump to app” and pagination mark up usually gets the mobile-friendly label on the search results. In the current order of annotation priorities, site owners who are cramming to make their websites mobile friendly may not be getting the full benefits of their efforts. Currently, only Google can do the reordering of the displayed mobile friendly tag on the search results.
