Crafting A Service, Has Never Been More Beautiful…

Toronto is a multicultural city. People are from all over the world from various walks of life, value systems, beliefs and cultural traditions. As Canada is evolving, funeral services are also evolving, evolving into mosaics of celebrations of life services. As funeral celebrants, we are required to learn the different mosaics of peoples cherished religions, cultural traditions and non-denominational customs to the best of our ability, in order to help a families honor their loved one who has transitioned.

* The “traditional funeral” is a term that bares little association with what families are now envisioning in their minds as to what type of send-off service they want to officiate. **How people grieve is changing. More and more families are looking for a meaningful way to commemorate the life of their loved one through service and the means of an interment.

Our main responsibility is to provide celebration of life services at the funeral establishment and the cemetery- to help families work through their grief, **through the art of ceremony with family, friends and their respective community. It is these ceremonial moments that impact the living, making the difference in how a family heals and transitions into the next phase of their life.

As qualified and certified professionals you can be assured in the dignity of your service. With a range of alternative service options that are affordable, creative and representative of your interests, you will be served according to your cultural, religious and lifestyle values. Whether you need to arrange a celebration of life service, memorial service or graveside committal, we can help you make a lasting informed decision.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED FUNERAL CELEBRANT?

Certified funeral celebrants are trained officiants which provide celebration of life services, that are personalized to reflect the lifestyle, beliefs and values of the person who has transitioned. Celebrants assist in the participation of family and friends crafting a meaningful ceremony.

WHY HAVE A FUNERAL CELEBRANT?

If you are non-denominational, spiritual or religious and would like to create a service tribute that is fitting, a funeral celebrant will assist you in crafting a service. Funeral celebrants facilitate the celebration of life service, memorial gathering or the grave side committal service. During a families unexpected time of loss, family and friends may be uncomfortable or unable to speak publicly about the loss in order to pay tribute to their loved one. Given this, a funeral celebrant will facilitate the service on the families behalf, coordinating the families needs to service their interests first.

HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR THE SERVICES OF A CERTIFIED CELEBRANT?

You may ask your desired funeral service provider for an officiant list to be referred to a certified funeral celebrant serving your community.

Celebrants work with and alongside funeral directors to officiate services for families experiencing an unexpected loss. You have options. Ask your service provider for options.

#HansonEventsFunerals Moves Beyond the Black and White to Celebrate Their Life
Its the humanity of memory, love and grief in life that connect us.

#HansonEventsFunerals – remembers to remember the details. Your details. Their details. Your stories. Their stores. As the humanity of memory, love and grief in life is what connects us. Experiencing life through the death of a loved one is a common thread that links us together, where we are interwoven the depths of time. Take comfort in the solitude of the service. Take comfort in the beauty of your loved ones shared story; their experiences, values and moments.

This is what our families are taking about:

I’ve been a funeral director for 18 years and I have never experienced a celebration of life service where the officiant really spent time to know and illustrate who the deceased was, until Nicole facilitated a service. Our family was extremely comforted. We continue to work with Nicole to meet the unique needs of our families.

I have been more open to the presence of my mothers loss. The celebration of life service I had for my mother really honoured her life and honoured the pain I’ve been experiencing. I opened my self to a very small gathering where I was able to express my grief, the way I feel comfortable. I’m so thankful for Nicole.

I haven’t been to church in years. I did not know what to do when my grandmother had died. Both my parents passed when I was younger – I never had to deal with planning a funeral. We had a service for nona that was beautiful, faith based yet not overly religious. I also felt I reconciled how I felt about funerals, this for me was a better experience.

All I can really say is that I miss Dad. I feel better knowing that his send- off was beautifully orchestrated. It left my family encouraged and supported. For someone who didn’t know what to expect – I was extremely satisfied.

For such a public funeral, standing beside my work colleagues honouring Deputy Marshall – it was such an important moment. Speaking with my colleagues, who felt anguish from the pain of our loss, the service was comforting, light and heartwarming. We appreciate Nicole taking this responsibility on.

The service made me feel strong, where I could openly mourn and express my grief. I didn’t feel like I had to over extend myself to the family and friends that attended the service. This service gave me the ability to commemorate the life of my sister. It was definitely a stepping stone.

To the one the world would never loose sight of.
Your faith kept them going and they kept you going too,
Allowing you to catalogue the lessons of their days,
with a zeal for life everyday you walked hand in hand moment to moment,
with a promise to never go away,
Beyond the limits of time, where the hope of today became the strength for tomorrow,
they continued to encourage the depths of your being while strengthening
you for better days ahead.
Trailing a blaze of compassion, honour,
sacrifice in all their hands have set out to do,
Remember its meaning,
Share in the story of their grace,
As the half has never yet been told,
