Would it be a hyperbole if I’ll make an estimation that the name Simon Cowell rings a bell to every ear in America? Well, I’m still open for corrections should somebody object to my valuation. But with a heavy heart, I am sharing you the news that pains the sentiment of the host’s avid fans out there.

On Wednesday evening, #ThankYouSimon became a trending hashtag on Twitter for a little while. This has given a rife to the speculation that the creator of Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor, and currently one of the judges of America’s Got Talent, will soon announce his retirement from television.

As far as we can remember though, just last year, Cowell insisted he will never retire because he’d much prefer to “drop dead” while at work in his 90’s than to play golf all day. He said:

“I’d rather drop dead at my job than retire. The idea of just playing golf makes me want to jump off a bridge. I’m going to work in my 80s or 90s if I can.”

However, his decision for retirement seemed to have been finalized. A source, who remained anonymous, veiled that these days, Cowell finds less excitement in hosting anymore. And though we are still waiting for official announcements, other reports hinted that the 58 years old host may branch out into other creative fields he is better at and more interested in. Our confidence goes with him for more astounding accomplishments with the bizarre kind of personality he has.

Simon is specifically popular for his blunt and controversial comments as a television show judge. He has created noise on the internet with his ironic and wisecracks about contenders and their performances. Aside from hosting, he is also a big-time music mogul known for signing successful world-class boy bands such as Westlife, One Direction, and CNCO.
