It could be a bad omen that country stars have either faced a horrific accident or immediate hospital attention this year and the latest addition to this unfortunate list is The Oak Ridge Boys’ tenor singer, Joe Bonsall who had to undergo a hand surgery.

Last Monday, August 28 201,  Joe Bonsall announced to his fans and followers why he needed to take it easy amidst the band’s hectic touring and show schedules. With pictures that made the fans wail and send their prayers to the loved tenor singer, Joe Bonsall tweeted that his hand surgery was caused by a rare genetic condition called ‘Dupuytren’s.’

The pictures that Bonsall tweeted painted a clear picture of his fingers being bent in almost different directions.

Here’s the medical summary of Dupuytren’s as found from Mayo Clinic:

“Dupuytren’s (du-pwe-TRANZ) contracture is a hand deformity that usually develops over years. The condition affects a layer of tissue that lies under the skin of your palm. Knots of tissue form under the skin — eventually creating a thick cord that can pull one or more fingers into a bent position.

The affected fingers can’t be straightened completely, which can complicate everyday activities such as placing your hands in your pockets, putting on gloves or shaking hands.

Dupuytren’s contracture mainly affects the ring finger and pinky, and occurs most often in older men of Northern European descent. A number of treatments are available to slow the progression of Dupuytren’s contracture and relieve symptoms.”

After tweeting the graphics of his medical condition, Joe Bonsall kept the mood light by continuing to tweet and joking that he is using his left hand to update the followers:
