Floyd Parton
Country songwriter and composer Floyd Estel Parton, the younger brother of the Queen of Country Dolly Parton, has died at age 61.

The confirmation of his passing was published in an obituary posted by Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tennessee. It said that he had passed on the 6th of December, 2018.
The family has requested that instead of flowers be sent their way, they would appreciate donations that would be sent to the My People Senior Activity Center, 1220 W. Main Street Sevierville. Fans may leave condolences at the Atchley Funeral Home online.

Dolly Parton honored her late brother with a song at a private memorial service in Tennessee on Monday. Moreover, the Parton family has released a statement to People Magazine last Monday:
“Dolly, and the entire Parton Family, wish to thank everyone for their kindness. Yesterday, we laid our sweet baby brother to rest. We all sang his lovely song, ‘Rockin’ Years,’ together as a family at the service to say goodbye to him. He lived a short life of love and beautiful songs.”
His Legacy
Parton was described by his family as a renaissance man who had many talents and possessed different areas of knowledge. He was “an avid outdoorsman and had an abundant knowledge of nature, as well as being an incredible cook.” Parton was also heralded as an amazing songwriter and composer.
He also had dabbled in the music industry, much like his older sister. His most famous songs were “Rockin’ Years,” which was recorded by his sister and Ricky Van Shelton. You can listen to it here.
