Country Music Hall of Famer Maxine Brown Russell dies at 87

Maxine Brown Russell died last Tuesday, January 22, at the Bowman Hospice in Little Rock, Arkansas. An announcement confirmed that her death was due to complications of the heart and kidney disease.

Maxine was one of the members of the trio known as The Browns. She performed alongside her brother, Jim Ed Brown, and sister, Bonnie Brown. The most successful song they have released was “The Three Bells.”

In 2015, the trio was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Carrie Underwood Welcomes Second Child

Last November, during the CMA Award show, Carrie Underwood announced the gender of her child. She was happy to reveal that she’s having a baby boy to the crowd .

On January 22, 2019, Underwood gave birth to her second child, Jacob Bryan Fisher.

She posted a picture of her, husband Mike Fisher, and son Isaiah Michael Fisher with baby Jacob Bryan Fisher on her Instagram account. She included the caption,

“Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday…his mom, dad, and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good…”

Randy Travis To Release His First Memoir

Despite being famous and achieving many things in his life and career, Randy Travis never sat down to write his story. When he was asked why, he told People via email,

“A book about my life wasn’t something I thought much about while I was busy living it — now I know the difference between life and living.”

“Forever and Ever Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith and Braving the Storms of Life” is the title of Travis’ forthcoming book. His memoir will be available this coming spring. In addition, Travis worked with Ken Abraham to make his book possible.

Travis will share his childhood, his road to fame, his divorce, and the struggles he encountered in his life. He will also include the story of the stroke that caused him to lose his ability to walk and talk.

Nashville Songwriters Association International To Honor Loretta Lynn with Lifetime Achievement Award

Loretta Lynn will be receiving the highest honor (Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award) of the Nashville Songwriters Association International on September 17, 2019. The event will be held at the Ryman Auditorium.

The Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award is given to works that have inspired other people.

There will be other honorees to receive the “Song of the Year,” “Songwriter of the Year” and “Songwriter-Artist of the Year.”

Trace Adkins To Headline His “Don’t Stop Tour” This Year

This coming February will be the kick start of Trace Adkins “Don’t Stop Tour.” After his one-day performance in San Antonio, he will be joining his friend Blake Shelton’s Friends and Heroes Tour. Adkins will resume his show in April at the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Cleveland, and end his tour on November 13 at the Royal Caribbean Poll Deck, Key West Florida.
