Prayers Sought for Seriously Ill Aretha Franklin, Reports Say

Prayers are being sought after reports and sources say that the 76-year-old Queen Of Soul has fallen into some serious illness. Her family and loved ones are now with her in Detroit calling for constant prayers for the speedy recovery of the legendary singer.

A true legend and music icon, Aretha Franklin is very much popular worldwide during her time and up to this day with many of her recognizable hits. She’s a queen and her songs simply hit to our souls. Unfortunately, her health has declined and worsened over the past few months. Now, her family is concerned that she won’t make it.

Reports on the Soul Singer’s Health Condition

At 7:23 PM, August 13, Evrod Cassimy, one of Franklin’s good friends, sadly tweeted saying Aretha is indeed gravely ill. Cassimy will soon post updates about the singer’s condition as he is allowed to release.

One of Detroit’s news stations, WDIV Local 4, has reported and confirmed the news with the singer’s family. In addition, it has provided updates regarding the status of Franklin.

On Sunday, August 12th, Roger Friedman together with Showbiz411 was the first to report about the soul singer’s “grave illness.” Furthermore, he said that her family has asked for “prayers and privacy” during this time.

On the other hand, journalist Roland Smith, a close friend of Franklin, earlier tweeted a photo of him and the singer. In his tweet, he confirmed the news about Franklin’s declining health and serious condition. He stated:

“Many of you are asking me to confirm the health status of @ArethaFranklin. Folks, I’ve known for several months. The Queen is surrounded by loved ones. That’s all I will say for now. Please keep her, the family and her longtime support staff in your prayers.”

For the past few years, Franklin has had some health issues and struggled to perform. However, she still managed to show up at various events until November last year. Also, along with many others, she was present at an event on the 25th anniversary gala of the Elton John AIDS Foundation on November 8th.

Known for her incredible four-octave vocal range, Aretha Franklin is sure a music icon with a number of accolades. She earned a total of 18 Grammy awards and 44 nominations. “Respect,” “Natural Woman,” “Chain of Fools,” and “I Say A Little Prayer” are the most famous songs under her name.
