There was an update in Gretchen Wilson’s charges that have sprung quite recently. It would seem that the charges for the Grammy-winning country music star were dropped. But, it was only after she paid a hefty $1,000 worth of bail.

The “Redneck Woman” singer was infamously arrested for “airport disturbance” back in late August. The altercation was described as a “disturbance of peace” at a Connecticut airport on an incoming flight. The state police responded to the international airport just after 7 P.M. on Tuesday, the 21st of August 2018. She was then charged with breach of peace. The police have also stated that she “became belligerent toward the troopers and caused a disturbance.“
However, she was vehement in denying that anything happened in the first place and the paparazzi just blew the whole thing out of proportion. Wilson gave an interview before the 2018 CMA Awards show, and she emphasized that the entire thing was just a misunderstanding. And, it escalated to a direction she didn’t expect it to go.
Gretchen Wilson said:
“I had to chew my tongue off because I was instructed not to speak about it. And actually, there was no incident on an airplane. None at all. There was some words between the state police and myself… that’s where all of that came from.”
Wilson also expressed how deeply saddened she was by the quick turn of events. She expressed that maybe she would come off a certain type of character because of the content of her songs. But true to life, she is personable and very accommodating, especially to her fans.
Dancing with the Stars
Wilson was also set to appear on season 27 of the hit reality competition show “Dancing with the Stars.” It was reported that she was one of the chosen contestants for the dance show, which premiered in September and is now down to the final four contestants.
But following her arrest, the star had an agreement with the show that she would not board season 27. We hope to see her in a future season, though!
