A question that almost always comes up is what could be the difference between normal lead generation techniques and inbound marketing lead generation. For this post, the focus would be on getting leads off of your company website which is a specialized type of marketing lead generation.
Question, what is a lead?
A lead is any person who has in some way or form that indicates interest in your company’s product or service.
When someone has shown interest in your product or service, it makes the first interaction enjoyable.Your lead would be somehow feel that need that it would be nicer to get a call or a personalized email from a business in which they have shown interest in, instead of getting all those junk cold calls or the not-so-important emails from businesses that they have no interest in whatsoever.
The Basic Parts of Inbound Lead Generation Techniques:
1. Call to Action – This usually comes in the form of texts or images that are clickable and gets your website user to do a specific action. Examples of these are; signing up, downloading content, sharing content etc…
2. Landing Page – Once your website visitor clicks on your call to action link, they should be taken to a different page. Basically, this page should be free from any other type of distractions such as navigation items or any other type of media (music, video) and users should be focused on the offer why they have clicked the call to action element. For example, if your visitor clicks on “Get Your Free Software”, they should be redirected to a page with a specific form to fill out, entering their contact information such as email address, company name, name, phone number. Once they had filled out the required information, they should be getting what they have exchanged their information for.
3. Forms – These forms must include fields to collect information in exchange for something on your website.
Make sure that the offer is valuable enough for a visitor to click on the call to action, land on the landing page and fill out the form with their personal information in exchange with the offer.
By doing all of these and connecting the needed elements for your online marketing lead generation, your marketing campaign will be able to attract website visitors that are genuinely interested in your product, service, industry or your business. As you attract more qualified leads, your conversion rates will increase and definitely, your return on investment will do too.
