It may sound magical, the more content that is created – assuming that content is unique, of good quality and catches particular interest of the targeted purchasers – the more customers are reached and attracted. This is the main idea of content marketing; businesses are marketed through the active creation of content. Even if content has been posted or distributed for some time already, that piece of information still continues to work long after its initial creation. Users can still find it through search engine queries or other online links and recommendations. This content-user relationship is furthered by adding more and more content. At some point, the user may part with their hard earned cash and will eventually be known as a “customer”. Now, with the idea is set out, the issue is how to create all that needed content and keep the marketing machine fuelled? Well, content is not needed to be created all from scratch. It just needs an idea and imagination to keep the content rolling on a website. The initial investment in creating content is now able to bring in more rewards. Blog Posts A new blog post can often be created simply refreshing original information that was earlier posted. This information update can be in the form of making it more relevant to the issues and concerns to the target audience or customers which are currently having today. Videos YouTube has become the world’s second largest search engine. If you only have content that is in written form, there is a huge potential loss by not posting content on YouTube. YouTube videos are also listed on the search pages of Google and this would add to the increase of any business’ online visibility. Tweets The more tweets, the more visible an an account becomes on Twitter resulting with more engagements and the more leads can be encouraged into a business. To find materials to tweet, old content can be new. A blog post can be posted to provide the source of potentially dozens more of new tweets. Presentation on SlideShare SlideShare is rated as one of the Internet’s top 120 most-visited websites. SlideShare averages up to 60 million unique visitors monthly, and is definitely a great way to create engagement. It is a huge audience of potential new leads to any business. Content does not need to be viewed and engaged with on SlideShare itself, they can easily be embedded on other websites as well as on tweets! To conclude, the list is not exhaustive. There are other opportunities in which old content can be repurposed as new lead generation tool. Old content is new on new accounts made in Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn among others, compile them into new ebooks, create an infographic and so on.
