They named the restaurant, MAKKAN, derived from the word itself, which simply means “FOOD”, from the language of Ilocanos in La Union. They serve, “special lutong bahay” foods that will make u want for more.

The so-called restaurant is located along McArthur Highway, of Barangay Consolacion, Agoo, La Union. The place is very accessible, and easy to locate by travelers and explorers, just near the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity Church of Agoo town.

This restaurant offer their very best food menu specialty, as they actually have big servings for everyone. Very authentic Ilocano dishes are served, that are worth every peso spent. Very Affordable. We have special Pulpog Pork, Bagoong Rice, Kilawen Goat, Brewed Coffee and Cookies and Cream Ice Cream for dessert.

Pulpog Pork is one of the best foods that you can see in La Union. It is a delicious recipe that can boost your appetite. This recipe is the other version of the food called “Insarabasab” in Ilocano dialect.

Bagoong Rice – This traditional Thai rice dish is usually served with caramelized pork pieces to complement the salty rice.

Kilawen Goat is a goat meat with skin and liver mixed with vinegar or kalamansi juice and other seasonings and spices. It is believed that this is an aboriginal dish invented by the Ilocanos using one of the old ways of cooking like grilling, use of citrus fruit as souring agent, and brain as cream to make the dish more appetizing and delicious.

It was a very delicious and mouth-watering meal! It is a definitely must try especially for those who are trying to explore La Union!

Inspired by the memory of travel and food, this restaurant’s design stems from fusion of Middle Eastern and Chinese patterns, displaying a good ambiance and welcoming place to dine. Something like, adopting an old look but relaxing place. The staff and waiters has displayed a warm welcoming service too. It is open the whole week from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM, to serve good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Your choice!
