Belated Merry Christmas, y’all!
This week, we have celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! A lot of things happened. From wishing to Santa to unwrapping gifts to eating sumptuous meals. But, there is more to this. Hence, before we bid goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019, we have compiled five of the hottest news that we think have rung the bell for the past week.
Country Music Artists Celebrate Christmas 2018
There is no better way to spend your Christmas holiday than to be with your family. It is the jolliest time of the year and it only happens once a year.
Country music artists are not exempted to this. They, too, are humans who work for their families. But, what is all your money for if you do not spend it with your family? In fact, this is the main point of Christmas – to be with your loved ones as you commemorate the birth of the King of Kings.
1. Here are some of the country stars and how they celebrated the season:
Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman’s Very Aussie Christmas

Australian couple Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are already Americanized but during Christmas, their hearts are still very “Aussie.” They spent the holiday in their home in Sydney, far from America. Since it is summer in Australia, their celebration was far from snowy and cold! Despite this, they still enjoyed and had fun with their family.
Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Celebrate Christmas 1 Day Late
Who could not miss celebrating Christmas? A day late to the party, holiday festivities are in full swing between Gwen Stefani, her kids, family, and Blake Shelton. But, why late?

On her Instagram Story, Stefani revealed that she’s celebrating Christmas on Dec. 26 with Shelton, her family, and three sons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. All the reason was Gwen’s ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, the father to her children.
“Gavin was so bummed he wouldn’t be seeing the boys over Christmas that he begged Gwen for some time with them, and she agreed,” said a source close to Gavin.
Well, it’s better late than never! And, we’re glad that Shelton and Stefani, indeed, had a “Merry, Merry Christmas!”
2. Where to See Live Country Music on New Year’s Eve

It’s just a few days away before we welcome 2019! The country music industry is just as excited as everyone else! Hence, there are several country concerts to get another new year off to a solid start.
As a matter of fact, country music is well-represented. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve will have live performances by Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Maren Morris, Kane Brown with Lauren Alaina and Kelsea Ballerini with the Chainsmokers. The said performances will be held on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.
3. David Berry Inducted Into the Country Music Hall of Fame

Golf professional David M. Berry was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame after a musical career playing the drums for Del Reeves and performing at the Grand Ole Opry. Also, he became a backup for artists like Tanya Tucker, Billie Jo Spears, Johnny Carver, Freddy Fender, Ray Price, and Crystal Gayle among others.
4. Petition Against Margaritaville Aims to Protect Birthplace of Country Music
Atlanta in Georgia might not be famous for its country music roots, unlike Nashville or Memphis. In fact, the city is believed to have hosted the very first country recording back in the early1920s.
However, detractors say there’s something bizarre about the idea of plopping a Margaritaville-branded resort in the heart of Atlanta.

If Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville high-rise resort proposal is carried out, a humble downtown building that may regard as the birthplace of country music would be demolished.
Last week, the development partnership of Wyndham Destination and Margaritaville Vacation Club filed requests for demolition permits with the City of Atlanta.
This being said, should the project proceed and the landmarks fall, the high-rise resort could bring 200-plus “vacation ownership units.” Also, it could result in a two-story, 14,000-square-foot Margaritaville restaurant.
5. Miley Cyrus Ties the Knot With Liam Hemsworth
Finally, Miley Cyrus and his beau Liam Hemsworth broke their silence and confirmed that they have already tied the knot. Their love story went through ups and downs, with their break up and eventually getting back together.

They first met while filming the Nicholas Sparks vehicle The Last Song. Since then, they dated, got engaged, broken up, and now, they’re back together as a married couple. That’s a true love story indeed!
Best wishes to Miley, and congratulations to Liam!
