Here’s a question that is keeping fans abuzz and confused, was Toby Keith really drunk at the Dam Music Festival in El Dorado Lake on Saturday, July 28?

This has been a sensational question that sparked in the social media after the country music artist and Oklahoma native performed at the event. Keith was the main performer for the second year of the festival. Other country music artists also attended, most notably, Brantley Gilbert among others, on Friday night.

The two-day event went fun and was a blast. However, all throughout Keith’s performance, many fans started noticing something was different and off. Seemingly, he appeared to have slurred his words and acted somewhat inebriated and drunk.

But could that have just been Keith’s gimmick for the event? Or was it really Keith’s habit of being a drunk performer?

To clarify things, T.K. Kimbrell, Keith’s manager, denies all the allegations and accusations that the country singer was drunk at the music festival. In an emailed statement, he explained:

“He was cutting up and carrying on just like normal. Colt Ford and Jamey Johnson both got up and sat in with him. Toby was having a good time as was everyone in the crowd.”

However, fans were not convinced and reviews of Keith’s performance uploaded on social media were mixed.

As seen on the Dam Music Festival Facebook page, one fan commented:

“Toby had several red Solo cups too many. Could not even sing his lyrics. Mumbled the words. A waste of talent.”

While some criticized what had happened, others disregarded what was going on with Keith and said that the night was overall enjoyable. In fact, one commenter wrote:

“Toby Keith is great on stage. Might have been a little trashed but I had more fun then.”
