“Hello Darlin'” Lyrics

Hello, darlin’
Nice to see you
It’s been a long time
You’re just as lovely as you used to be.

How’s your new love?
Are you happy?
Hope you’re doin’ fine
Just to know it means so much to me.

What’s that, darlin’?
How am I doin’?
I’m doin’ alright
Except I can’t sleep and I cry all night ’til dawn.

What I’m trying to say
Is I love you
And I miss you
And I’m so sorry that I did you wrong.

Look up, darlin’
Let me kiss you
Just for old time’s sake
Let me hold you in my arms one more time.

Thank you, darlin’
May God bless you
And each step you take
Bring you closer to the things you seek to find.

Goodbye, darlin’
I gotta go now
Gotta try to find a way
To lose these memories of a love so warm and true.

And if you should ever find it
In your heart to forgive me
Come back, darlin’
I’ll be waitin’ for you…

Scotty McCreery performing Hello Darlin

The 1970 hit song, ‘Hello Darlin’ gives Conway Twitty a rightful place in the country hit maker’s list. It would undeniably give Loretta Lyn a lot of nostalgia probably because it’s the song that Twitty would always sing with her back in the days of their youthful years.

Yet we also yearn for some country artist to give a perfect rendition of Twitty’s ‘Hello Darlin’ rendition, one that would remind us of Conway Twitty invading our TV screens while reminding us that it’s a good time to remember these nostalgic moments. McCreery undoubtedly gave that kind of performance and we already felt that when he greeted us with the song’s title.

This performance was given by Scotty McCreery in the famous Grand Ole Opry and he clearly proved us that he was also the rightful American Idol winner. This “The Trouble with Girls” singer was very proud to admit that Conway Twitty was one of his musical influences.

Recently, McCreery was subjected to a gun issue after he was cited for carrying a loaded handgun. Nevertheless, it’s good to be reminded of his vocals amidst a non-country related issue.
