The American country music group Restless Heart breathed life to the song “When She Cries”. It became a hit song both in the US and Canada as it appeared on various music charts in these countries. Particularly, the song charted on the US Adult Contemporary (Billboard) chart reaching the second spot. It landed number 9 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart while it ranked number 4 on Billboard Mainstream Top 40. On the US Billboard Hot 100, the song peaked at number 11. Larry Stewart, the group’s lead singer, was not around at the time the song was recorded. Thus, drummer John Dittrich was the lead singer. Under Wayne Miller’s directorship, the band performed and recorded the song in a warehouse. Stewart’s absence did not lessen the song’s chances to succeed given its chart domination.
