It sure is a mighty fine day to break records.

Luke Combs is undoubtedly a very talented singer and a gifted songwriter. His hit song “She Got the Best of Me” is topping the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week makes him the only country artist in history to score four consecutive number one singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

He exhibited his prowess in his debut album ‘This One’s For You’ and successor ‘This One’s For You Too.’ But, this achievement solidifies his place in the country music scene. 

His other three number one singles are “Hurricane,” When it Rains It Pours,” and “One Number Away” – all of which came from Combs’ second album. Combs snatched his fourth top spot with “She Got the Best of Me” when it was re-released in the deluxe edition of his “This One’s For You” album.

While he is the only solo artist to receive this prestigious award, there were others who bagged the coveted title before him. They are Florida Georgia Line and Brooks & Dunn.

In an interview, Combs expressed:

“Me and my guys on the road call it the twilight zone. … It all just happened so fast. They call Nashville a 10-year town, and I just had my four-year anniversary a couple of weeks ago. It’s really crazy.”

But the good news for the breakout star doesn’t stop there! The annual CMA is looming over our heads right now, with its date fast approaching. Combs is nominated for two awards: Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year.

She Got The Best of Me

Combs is a multi-platinum singer-songwriter who stormed the country music landscape as indeed one of the burliest and brightest stars – now with “history maker” under his belt. He won the iHeart Radio Awards “Best New Country Artist” for his “This One’s for You Too” album, a whopping 17 track expanded collection of his critically acclaimed debut album.

“She Got the Best of Me” is indeed a hit from such a superstar.
