Anything can happen in concerts, but the energy of the crowd is also heavily dependent on the artists’ dynamism and mood. During Kenny Chesney and Kid Rock’s concert, the two vibrant artists showed everyone how every tour should be done. Kenny Chesney’s concert in Detroit left the fans overjoyed and energized especially after he called his special guest to join him onstage. It was non-other than the Michigan-raised, country rock star, Kid Rock! Before Rock revealed himself from backstage, Chesney introduced him as his dearest friend in the world, as well as his brother in music and in life.

Chesney first auditioned for Opryland Music Group in 1992, thanks to the referral of Clay Bradley, then head of writer relations at BMI. Earning the approval of Tomlinson with his commendable talent in singing and songwriting, his fateful audition led to a contract with Capricorn Records, and the rest was history! Throughout the duration of his career, Chesney has released many critically acclaimed albums like, In My Wildest Dreams, I Will Stand, Everywhere We Go, The Road and The Radio, Welcome to the Fishbowl, Life on a Rock, and Cosmic Hallelujah.

His close friend, Kid Rock is a five-time Grammy Award nominee. He has sold over 25 million albums nationwide and continues to be among the highly influential musicians in the US. Some of the most notable albums he released are Devil Without a Cause, Born Free, Rock n Roll Jesus and Rebel Soul.

Wasting not a minute of the crowd’s time, they made sure they prompted their fans with just the right amount of excitement and got them cheering and cheering for more as the show went on and reached its end. As soon as Kid Rock entered the stage, he and Chesney began serenading the audience through an animating duet of Cowboy. The song was released by Rock as a single in 1999. The audience responded by roaring and singing enthusiastically. Their next collaboration delved into a country classic, You Never Even Call Me by My Name. It was a song released in 1975 by David Allan Coe. It was the artist’s first song that made it to the Top Ten hits. Due to the enormous fame that the song received, it was later on deemed a country music staple. The entire venue was filled with the lyrics,

And I’ll hang around as long as you will let me

And I never minded standing in the rain

But you don’t have to call me darlin’, darlin’

You never even called my by my name

As they performed the song number, the chemistry between the two country artists was evident that it helped entice the audience to give their full participation.  

The audience happily sang along the two country legends, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if viewers watching the performance online would sing along as well and get a whiff of the overflowing energy on stage. Everybody described the concert as a wonderful, mind-blowing event. It left the crowd all smiles and overflowing with musical rage. Who could stop them though? Two very talented and legendary hometown country heroes were performing right before their eyes, both giving their all to every song.
