Regardless of religious affiliation or views, Christmas season is being celebrated not only because of secular beliefs but it is the time of the year when great songs come to life to greet the holiday with a warm hug of giving. One of these Christmas songs that come to life when the month of December is approaching is the 90’s song, ‘Mary Did You Know.’ Countless artists have already made a cover of the said song but for some reason, we would like to place our bets on this Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd version.

Mary Did You Know, Kenny Rogers ft Wynonna Judd

A duet version recorded by Wynonna Judd and Kenny Rogers on Rogers’ holiday album The Gift peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in 1997. Up to this day, it is still considered as one of the most classic take-ups of the timeless Christmas gospel.

It was originally recorded by Christian recording artist Michael English on his self-titled debut solo album in 1991. English and Lowry were both members of the Gaither Vocal Band at the time. It reached No. 6 on CCM Magazine’s AC Chart. Lowry would record the song several times himself, most notably with the Gaither Vocal Band on their 1998 Christmas album Still the Greatest Story Ever Told.

In a television special on Gospel Music Channel, Kenny Rogers sang the classic hit but Wynonna joined the UK singer on a recorded video part. Well, that’s big thanks to technology.
