Gretchen Wilson was arrested in Connecticut after allegedly causing an airline disturbance. The “Redneck Woman” singer was taken into custody by the Connecticut State Police on Tuesday evening about 7:15 pm. Wilson was charged with an offense of breach of peace.

The Airport Incident

According to reports, the 45-year-old country singer got into argument with another passenger over the airplane bathroom during their flight. Wilson reportedly waited and knocked on the door of the bathroom before the incident happened. The two have been exchanging words throughout the 80-minute flight.

The police met her when the plane landed at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. According to the cops, Wilson became “belligerent” when she was asked with few questions regarding the incident she recently had inside the plane. Her reaction subsequently caused a disturbance in the airline that made the police take her into custody.

Wilson paid the $1000 bail. The police did not provide any further details about the “disturbance” on the plane. They neither release a statement on why the singer was belligerent. The country singer nor any representative has not yet released a comment about the news.

Wilson had another plane ordeal back in October 2007. She received an in-flight citation when she cursed out the American Airlines flight attendants after they asked her to put her dog back into the traveling case.

Wilson rose to fame in 2004 with her debut single “Redneck Woman” that instantly peaked the chart and won a Grammy award. Her success continued to glow as the years came by. She collaborated with country stars that include Kenny Chesney. As of now, she has 13 singles that marked a promising spot on the Billboard country chart.

Aside from making music, Wilson is also an active advocate for adult education. She completed her GED in 2008 and has since testified before the Congress about the importance of support for adult learners.
