The 52nd CMA Annual Award show is finally over. It was certainly a night to remember with extravagant performances by Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Garth Brooks and many more.

The CMA Award Show gave away twelve awards this year, from Entertainer of the Year to Vocal Event of the Year. Therefore, to all the winners of tonight’s show, congratulations. Now let us take a closer look at the winners for Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Male Vocalist of The Year

Winning the Male Vocalist of the Year is not just a minor award. This category belongs to one of the major awards of the show. Therefore, receiving this award is something most artists want. Last year during the 51st CMA, Chris Stapleton brought home the award for the second time around. Now, he did it again for the third time. It was such an amazing night for Chris as he won in almost all of the categories he was nominated in tonight. He failed to win the Album of the Year as it was given to Kacey Musgraves (Golden Hour) and Entertainer of the Year (Keith Urban).

Female Vocalist of the Year

Another major award anticipated by most artists is the Female Vocalist of the Year. In last year’s show, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Reba McEntire, Maren Morris, and Carrie Underwood were nominated. Miranda Lambert, who had five nominations, won Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017.

Carrie Underwood, who’s expecting a baby boy, dethroned Lambert as the Female Vocalist of the Year. It is her fifth time to win Female Vocalist of the Year. Underwood released her new album entitled Cry Pretty. It entered different charts in and outside of the US. Moreover, Carrie’s album became number one on the Billboard Country chart.

New Artist of the Year

Last year’s nominee for New Artist of the Year were the ones nominated this year, minus Jon Pardi and Old Dominion. Pardi brought home the New Artist of the Year in 2017. This time the same names were nominated (Luke Combs, Brett Young, and Lauren Alaina), with the addition of Midland and Chris Janson, but only one can bring home the award.

The winner of tonight’s CMA New Artist of the Year is Luke Combs. He was nominated for the first time last year; now he finally won his first CMA award. In addition, Combs was also nominated this year for Male Vocalist of the Year, but the award was given to Chris Stapleton.
