The Announcement
Carrie Underwood shared a video via Instagram last August 8. It was all about her upcoming album Cry Pretty and the Cry Pretty Tour 360 that will be on May 2019. However, at the end of the video, the country artist surprised everyone by announcing that she and her husband are expecting their second child. She shared:
“Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond! This has just been a dream come true, with album and with baby news and all that stuff. We’re just so excited, and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us.”
The Viral Photo
A few days after the announcement of her pregnancy, she surprised her fans again with a photo of her baby bump. Carrie Underwood shares this photo through Instagram and captioned it with “@ opry ??” with a heart-shaped emoji. In the photo, she was in the backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville while cupping her new baby bump through her sequin dress.
Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher celebrated their eight years of marriage last month. Recently, she opened about missing the chance to have a big family wither her husband. She said in an interview:
“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family. We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.”
Moreover, she also shared about having “a few more downs than ups last year,” after having a scary fall left her with broken wrist and stitches in her face.
“A lot happened in 2017 during my ‘off year. I love it when people say, ‘You took a year off.’ I’m like, ‘You know, I had this shoot and this thing, and I was writing this and doing that.’ There was always so much to do, but it was also a very soul-searching year for me.”
