Country music star Brett Young is unstoppable in reaching career milestones. This ACM’s New Male Vocalist of the Year just celebrated the recent success of his self-titled debut album and four singles all going platinum. Adding to his first three singles that crossed the 1 million total consumption mark was his breakup ballad, Mercy.” With that achievement, the singer’s list of awards only gets longer. His three previous hits that first reached the same milestone were “Sleep with You” (Platinum), In Case You Didn’t Know” (Triple Platinum), and “Like I Loved You” (Platinum).  Young performed all the four breakthrough singles during his celebration night for his family, friends, and special guests. Likewise, he surprised them with a performance of his upcoming album’s first single. The sophomore album will be called Here Tonight.

Brett Young’s Incredible Successes

Barely a year since Young released his self-titled debut album, the record has already racked up notable accolades. And, a platinum status only proves the appealing element that the singer’s records have on the audience. In other words, Young is able to capture and hold the audience interest with his music. As New York Times described it, Young’s debut album has “soothing” and “approachable” characteristics. It dominated the Country Albums chart shortly after its release in 2017, hence, gaining instant success. Its chart-reign lasted for a total of 37 long weeks allowing it to quickly achieve a platinum certification from RIAA.

The album delivered four consecutive hits turning Young into one of Country music’s new class of hitmakers. Each of the platinum-certified singles reached the top of the country chart one after the other. In addition to that, the music videos for “Mercy” maintained its position atop Vevo’s Top Country chart for several weeks while  “In Case You Didn’t Know” continues to increase its viewing rates. In fact, the clip has already surpassed 195 million views.

From being a country newcomer, Young became the only country act on Billboard’s Top 10 New Artists. His efforts to impress the country audience with his unique voice and appealing music came to fruition too early. This was evidenced by the numerous nominations that the singer received from Billboard, ACM, Teen Choice, CMA, and CMT Awards. With that, there’s no denying Young’s ability to establish a stunning reputation as a singer and songwriter. At his ‘victory’ party, Young tries to look back from the time he was starting his journey in the music world and shares his thoughts about it.

“It was surreal being back where I first signed my record deal and seeing how much has happened since then. It’s crazy to think just three years ago I was in the same place just getting started with my team. I wrote this album from such a vulnerable and honest place, so it means the world that these songs have connected with people the way they have. The time has flown by, and I can’t wait to share the new music with fans soon.”
