Trace Adkins, Cassadee Pope, Tyler Rich, and more will perform for an upcoming benefit event to raise money for the victims of the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting victims.

The Academy of Country Music Lifting Lives Initiative teams up with the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California to host a country style benefit concert. It is aptly entitled “ACM Lifting Lives Presents: Borderline Strong.”

Nashville star Charles Esten is poised to host the one-night-only event. Other performers include Jimmie Allen, Runaway June, and more artists who are yet to be announced.

The benefit concert will take place at the Fred Kavli Theater in Thousand Oaks Civic Center on the 11th of February. All net proceeds will go to the benefit the victims and their families. This will be via the Ventura County Community Foundation’s Conejo Valley Victim’s Fund.

Vanessa Bechtel, the President and CEO of the Ventura County Community Foundation had some kind words for the event in a press release:

“We are deeply grateful to ACM Lifting Lives for standing with the victims and survivors of this devastating tragedy. While we know that financial support cannot begin to alleviate the pain of this horrific event, we hope these funds will offer some basic aid and support during these difficult times of transition and recovery. Thank you to everyone working to ensure that those touched by this tragedy are assisted in every way possible.”

Tickets are already on the market. People would have the option to purchase a special VIP ticket. The set includes a pre-reception with a special guest appearance before the event begins. Donations are also welcome.

The Mass Shooting

The Borderline Bar and Grill mass shooting happened on the 7th of November, 2018. A lone gunman burst into the crowded bar just before midnight and began firing into the hundreds of patrons who had gathered for a college country night. Twelve people died. Among the victims was Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Helus, who was one of the first responders on the scene after reports of being shots fired.
