Country music welcomes another young and promising artist in the person of Baylee Littrell. Does his family name ring a bell? Certainly! He’s the son of Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell. Of course, the vocal group became very famous in the 2000s but little did we think that one of their members will be passing his legacy to his son one day. Although Baylee followed in the footsteps of his father as a recording artist, the young Littrell chose a different music genre. Unlike his father, he preferred country music over pop.

Baylee just turned 16 last month and received a very precious birthday gift.  A few days after his glamorous birthday bash, his debut single became available which also launched his country music career.

“My mom, dad and I were just talking about it one night and they said they thought now was the perfect time to start. We chose November, the month of my birthday, to release the first single,” Baylee told People magazine.

The Debut Performance

Prior to the release of his debut single “Don’t Knock It,” Baylee performed it on the occasion of his 16^th birthday. The idea behind the huge party came from Baylee’s mom and what made it fascinating was the part where he performed his new track. Visitors to the special event, comprised mainly of close family and friends, were the first to witness Baylee’s performance of his first country record. He was all dressed up – black-tie bash in a tux jacket, a white shirt, and bow with black trousers and suspenders. To top it all, Baylee wore a black cowboy hat which was just fitting for his country single. Despite being dressed buoyantly, the adorable, young singer admitted how he felt while performing in front of his audience.

“When it comes to family, it’s a completely different energy, so I’m so nervous to perform in front of my family.”

“Don’t Knock It”

The single follows a rhythmic type similar to the songs of the country duo Florida Georgia Line. Its bouncy and fun vibe somewhat matches the message of the song. It resonates well with people who could criticize something until they have experienced it. Songwriter Corey Crowder produced the single through the FGL’s music publishing company, Tree Vibez.

When asked about his choice to go country, Baylee gave a sweet and sincere answer.

“You can’t relate to any other song like you can to a country song, and that’s why I bonded with it so much and that’s why it’s my favorite genre. If I was ever going through a breakup or hard time, I always listened to country music — it’s Luke Combs or something super country that tells a story.”
