It’s almost Grammy season, and names on who will perform are starting to drop. Country star Kacey Musgraves and hit sensations Dan + Shay are among the first to be announced. The two acts will represent the country music genre for the all-genre awards show in February 2019.

Both artists have earned several nominations at the 2019 Grammy awards. Dan + Shay had some very earnest words about how they were chosen to perform on the prestigious awards show. They posted it on their social media page:

“Being nominated for two Grammy Awards is an incredible honor by itself, but getting to perform on the show might be the ultimate highlight of our career. We’re grateful to share the prestigious stage with some of the greatest artists in the world.”

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay are in the running for Best Country Duo/Group Performance as well as Best Country Song for their smash hit “Tequila.” 

While Musgraves is nominated for four amazing awards. She is gunning for Best Country Album for “Golden Hour”, Best Country Song for “Space Cowboy”, Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies”, and the ever coveted award of Album of the Year for “Golden Hour”.

She also had some heartfelt words with regards to her nomination

The Awards Show

The country superstars are not the only ones who are going to perform. They are going to be joined by Cardi B, Post Malone, Janelle Monae, Camilla Cabello, and Shawn Mendez. 

The 2019 Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. It will be on the 10th of February, 2019. Its televised ceremony will start at PM ET on CBS. The awards show will be hosted by the talented Alicia Keys. There will be more details with regards to the performers and other things will be announce in the coming weeks.
