why-nobody-is-watching-your-videos
Today’s consumers are very savvy and are relying heavily on video as part of their purchasing decision. If you have created and posted your own videos online to amp up your marketing efforts but your hits on your videos are low or few people are viewing them, you would to know why and as fast as you can. Researchers have announced that almost everybody is watching well over 160 billion hours of online video each year. Big brands and tech savvy marketers are turning video to promote products and services to cash-in on the many benefits of video marketing have to offer. But before totally giving up on your own video campaign, here are some quick reasons why your videos are not getting the much-needed views that you are targeting.
  1. Users Can’t Simply Find Your Videos. Just like how articles o blogs are optimized, videos need to be optimized too for users to find them. It can look like that your latest video is something that your target audience is excited to see but if your target audience is not able to find your video when conducting searches online, all the work that was put in creating the video would be all in vain. When posting videos online, you must use keyword phrases that your audience is more likely to use to find businesses like yours. If you are not sure what those keywords are, it is advisable for you to do a basic keyword research in order to find what those keywords are. Integrate those keywords into your video’s title, description tags and content so people will run across it when conducting searches.
  1. Your Videos are Focused on Your Sales Pitch. This is one thing that turns off viewers (and possible consumers) is an obnoxious, flat-out sales pitch. The point of getting into video marketing is to sell what you have to offer, you would need to tone things a bit due to the fact that consumers are turned off by pushy brands that try too hard to promote what they are selling. Think about the last time you have encountered a video that was just all about a sales pitch. You, as a video viewer, would have clicked away and find some other thing to do online. You would need to find the fine line on how to smartly promote your business and being so overbearing so people would be interested and hearing what you have to say.
  1. The Video’s Content is Boring and not Up-to-date. Your videos should feature the latest content, creates interest and unique that shows viewers why your product or business is something that they actually need. As YouTube marketing expert Brendan Gahan says “You can’t mimic what’s already been successful. Instead you’ve got to carve out your own niche”. Try crafting a story that includes a short introduction, climax and a resolution. Your goal should create an interesting narrative around your product or service with a specific call to action at the end. Do not allow your video to be long – not longer than 4 minutes – because people, in general, do not enjoy watching long videos.
